The original Japanese Ring movies wipe the floor with the Saw movies.
I am a big fan of japanese horror and the suspense is alot more twisted. Saw is just a walk in the park compared to some of the films from Japan that I have.
The American Ring films were no where near the originals.

The Ring for the first US version, which is far better than any of the Saws but all the Saw films are of a reasonable quality.

I choose the saw films (even though i havent seen III yet)
But what would b an awesome vs horror movie is Samara (the ring) vs. Hiroko (The Grudge) now that would b a never ending match:)LOL

The saw movies are better. I've only seen the first one, but it scared me a lot more then the ring movies (which I saw both of)

Saw by far. The Ring movies are more of suspense and mystery than scary. Saw I was a classic. Truley haunting. Saw II was just another dumb pop-horror flick.

They're both are like one of the freakiest movies I've ever glanced at or even heard of! But I'd have to say the Ring movies. More impact and scary scenes. I could tell by just watching one Ring movie, and trust me that's all I needed.

I would have to say the Saw movies are better. I only watched one Ring movie and I thought it was boring, and lame. I don't think I will ever watch the second one.

Saw films are definitely more twisted and decent films, I didn't find the ring movies good or scary
