I'm a Canadian, but we do watch your politics--it affects us to some degree. Anyway, most of us are happy for you!

Congratulations!

Oh, and by the way, if any conservatives reckon Canada is communist, why did we elect a conservative government in the last election? You'll notice, though, that the Conservatives led by Stephen Harper, a Bush-style conservative, have a minority government, which means their mandate can be challenged very easily by the other parties. That's exactly what you have now, which is a good thing for any democracy.

Oh, yes, I forgot. Our capital city is Ottawa, and, no, we don't all speak French.

Sadly, you reflect the ill-informed among your populace. Please, you're welcome to visit Canada anytime to find out the myriad things you misunderstand about us.

To the rest of you, those who wanted change and got it, cheers! We knew you could do it!

Although I'm not a Democrat, I accept your congratulations. Yesterday's election is a reaffirmation of the power of the people in this country. They saw arrogance and tyranny and took the action necessary to neutralize it. Yes, it took 6 long years for enough people to recognize it for what it was, but I think it still happened in time to save our country from these deluded egomaniacs.

For the first time since 9/11 I have hope. But we need to see how all this plays out.

thank you for your kind words, Did you know that a lot of republicans, at least in New York City, voted Democratic?

Thank-you. It's been a long time coming, and hopefully we can get this country back on the right track.
For far too long, too many people in this country allowed themselves to be governed by fear, fostered by the Republican "spin machine". People are starting to wake-up.
Thank-you neighbor, for your patience with us.

Thanks. We worked hard for it. But do not think the Republican party is bad or evil. Any party in control for that long is prone to bad habits and will always be ousted by the American people. They will come back and hopefully be better Americans for it.

Thanks. Sanity has returned to America. To quote a GOP ad of 20+ years ago, "It's morning in America."
