One cigarette will hopefully make you feel so ill that you never want another. It's the second that gets you started, so the first is already half way there.
there are no benefits in smoking, so never start - not even 1.

No. But I wouldn't suggest starting. My girlfriend started smoking at 12 and says that it was the people she hung out with that smoked and she was constantly around cigarettes. So, one after another, she just started getting addicted until she didn't just socially smoke, she smoked every chance she got. Plus, now that she's 19 and still smoking, she coughs like crazy and wheezes when she runs.

One leads to another, then another one, and another one........ you have that first one, and time passes and you are with others that smoke and think,'Well, I had one, and I don't smoke now', then you allow yourself another one, because you are not hooked. then the 3rd time, you tell yourself the same thing, and your not hooked, but you've had 3 by now if not 4. Before you now it, you are hooked, and telling yourself you are not, and can give them up anytime. Don't have the first one. I had my first one at age 17, and my last one 27 years later. that was 2 years ago. Quitting was one of the hardest things I have ever done, and starting smoking was the easiest.

why take that chance, yanno? we can never know how quickly we can get sucked into stuff.... if you have a track record with yourself of being able to back out of temptation, s'all good but if you have any trace of an addictive nature, again, why take that chance? the things we get sucked into serve a purpose for us... they become our "personal medicine"... besides the health risk, it's a stinky habit and it costs a ton of money...

if you are asking this after the fact, do your best to abstain.. there's nothing to be gained by smoking

No, because when you smoke the first one all you do is cough and choke. Who would want to smoke a second one?

No, you will be coughing and your head will hurt and if you are smart you will never ever smoke another one again. It is the hardest habit to break.
