I have interviewed for counseling positions and have been told that they prefer someone with one year experience. I gave the school one year of free internship experience and they are not considering that. what am I suppose to do? Please help

I don't know, but don't get angry and give up! Keep your cool and you'll get a job. Counselors are a much needed part of our school systems nowadays. It'll happen! I'm sure many schools are just waiting for a good counselor.

Counsel work is the center of someone, your clients life. The
reasoning in asking for experienced person generally says the
appeal you are making is self centered. Even if you are trying
out for a school scholarship program with participation in mind
you have to give everyday these percents, 99% to the client.
1% to the browser, your assistants, and instructors. Really
the idea is important, mature, sensitive, even full of LOVE. AH
maybe your personality seems young or less experienced then
you could be, wear your serious, I mean to do a good job hat.
