You usually wear your watch on the hand that you least use (i.e. if you write and do everything with your right hand, then you wear it on your left). Doesn't matter what gender you are, same rule applies.

Most watches are made to be worn on the left wrist. This is obvious because the spindle is on the right side of the watch. You can adjust the watch without having to remove it from the arm.

Most people are right handed. The idea of wearing the watch on the left hand was to protect the watch. It was less likely to be scratched or damage on the left hand. At some left hand specialty shops, you can find scissors for the left hand and watches that fit on the right wrist with the spindle on the left side of the watch.

I don't think it's a girl-guy thing. I think if you're right-handed, you wear a watch on your left hand. If you're left-handed, you wear it on your right hand. Perhaps because it's annoying to try to write something and to have a watch digging into your wrist when you rest your hand down? Or maybe it's just a good way for the dominant "righties" to identify those renegade "lefties."

Theres no prescribed rule for wearing a watch, and gender is irrelevant. But most people, both men and women, wear a watch on the left wrist.

I think if you are left handed then you put the watch on your right wrist, if you are right handed then you put it on your left wrist, and I think if you are both left handed and right handed then it doesnt matter I guess

I don't think it matters, but because I am right handed...I wear it on my left wrist. It just works better.

I wore my watch on my right hand when I was young and a little ambidextrous, but my parents told me watches were supposed to be worn on your left wrist, so that's where I've worn it ever since.
