My furnace is gas.LP to be exact. When I turn up the thermostat, the inducer blower comes on, the ignitor gets warm and glows....but the main burner does not ignite.Of course the ignitor goes through this 3 times then shuts down. The diagnostic indicator flashes just once, pauses and then once....over and over.Could this be a problem with the outlet pressure? If so what can I do to check it?I think I can remove the small clear hose that connects the inducer blower to the outlet pressure thing....and blow in it slightly to hear if it pops.I would remove it from the inducer blower...correct?
Any advice would be appreciated.

OK, I had cleaned the dust out of it before I asked this question but that didn't help. After the advice of checking the gas came up, I decided to do that. But of course just by turning the valve inside the furnace off for about 30 seconds or so and then turning it back on.It turned the switch to the power for the furnace back on,it lit,ignited..and blew hot air! Now for how long it will work I don't know but everyone's advice was helpful....thanks

The furnace goes through a sequence of operation to light. The induce draft starts to prove the switches, the clear tube on the induce draft. If the switch does not prove it will not let the ignitor try for ignition. The hot surface ignitor is glowing and is waiting for a signal from board to open valve. On the board or on the diagram there should be a fault indicator saying what the code means for a one flash from you described. Sometimes when the hot surface igintor is not getting hot enough for the board to sensor the current it needs it will not open the valve. But if you can check to see if you hear the gas valve click then its trying to open to light the main burner, then you might have a bad gas vavle or no gas flow to furnace, but if you don't hear it click, the board or the ignitor may be the problem. If you have any safetys open it will never get to the hot surface to light. If you don't have any experience with gas furnaces get a Tech to look at it, Keep yourself from getting hurt.

Had a similar problem with my Carrier gas hot air furnace. By testing, the blower worked, the switch worked, the igniter worked, when occassionally the flame would come on, it was blue which means no clogs. I deduced it may be the igniter control module.

I purchased an ICM (it's the circuit board), labeled the wires before unplugging them from the old board and screwed in the new board.

Voila, worked fine, never had another problem.

You could have a problem with:

1) the gas valve- if there is voltage present at the valve (24v) then you have a bad valve

2)you could have an ignition control module failure- the main circuit board seems to be doing it's job in telling the inducer motor and the igniter to come on.

3) if you have other gas appliances in the house that are working then other than the shutoff being ****** then the pressure would be fine then it would be answer #1

First check to see if the flame sensor is clean.
Some times the sensor gets dirty.
Take some fine grit sand paper and clean it.
Next, clean the burners.
Take some compressed air and blow them out.
If this doesn't work, your best bet then is to a professional.
Good Luck

in case you have a FURNACE interior, the exterior unit is maximum possibly an A/C unit and could be thoroughly dormant once you're heating your place. Mine is at present lined with a pair of foot of snow. in case you have a warmth pump, the exterior unit is your everyday warmth source and the furnace would desire to basically run while the exterior temperature is under the warmth pump means.

you don't mention checking to be sure the gas valve is on. If it is on, you are going to have to check the gas valve itself. Call the man.
