Smoking is a harmful type of anti-social addiction. The word, nasty, is one way of saying that it is very annoying for others.
For people with lung problems inhaling secondary smoke becomes a health risk. Some secretaries in Asian countries have to put up with it in office when the boss keeps on puffing his cigarettes in an air conditioned office. They can't fight back because they need their jobs.
Someone I know, kicked this habit when he was told by his terminally ill father that it was his last wish. The father died long ago but the son is no longer suffering from the smoker's cough.
Next month, an American nurse is going to have a baby. She could not help smoking when she was stressed. After getting pregnant, she did!
Maybe, you will try to help smokers rather than hate them.

Long ago, at the dawn of time before the time of man, Ednas walked the earth... Then slowly a younger race began to take over the earth driving the poor Ednas into hiding. The Ednas hid underground, deep underground where humanity could not follow. There they waited, biding there time to one day rise again. The time of the Ednas have come. We are here to return to the surface throuh Yahoo Answers! Our stand on this 'smoking' thing which humanity has invented, obiviously to continue to discriminate agaist the Ednas is evil, and is nasty.

No. Typical liberal health foisted propaganda. Smoking is actually healthy and promotes overall physical and mental well being. I belong to a smokers health club where we smoke a pack of unfiltered camels between each aerobic break. Those workouts can last for hours with all the smoking and wheezing. It just knocks the tar out of all other exercise regimens. I have to stop typing now. I am out of breath.

I don't think it's nasty, it's just an unfortunate habit. A lot of people started smoking when they were young cause they thought it was cool. Now they're hooked and they'll probably die early.

as an ex-smoker yes it is nasty but when you're smoking that doesn't seem to bother you. I never noticed how much it stank until I quit. It was hard to do and it's been two years. Honestly, I still want a cigarette... ugh...

Yes, even though I don't smoke, I have been around people that do. Long after a person smokes a cigarette, the stench is still with them, on their clothes and breath.

I used to smoke when I was younger.
My step father died of lung cancer and I never saw him smoke. I later found out that he did when he was younger *biting my nails*
Aside from that, I sometimes crave a cigarette, but it does stink up everything pretty bad so I pass.

Yeah but I always say: "smoke 'em if ya got 'em" - and it's a de-stressor. I know it's a bad habit, but a hard one to break and one that you can't break unless you want to.
