My girlfriend wants to name our baby daughter Celebrity. I've never heard that name before. Have you? I suppose it could work...you know we could call her Brit for short. But, I dunno. Do you think it's a nice name or should I try to convince my GF to pick another name?

Ooh, no, no, no. In my opinion, it's a terrible name. First of all, do you want your child associated with the antics of celebrities? Do you think good things when you hear "celebrity"? I think of whiny, drug-addicted, anorexic rich folks. Even if you religiously call her Brit, everyone will still know her real name, as her teachers will say it on the first day of school every year, much to the amusement of her peers.

Wow... that has got to be the wierdest thing I have ever heard. When she grows up, if she's not a "Celebrity" then people will make fun of her. You know they will. If it were me- I'd say heck no. But hey its your kid. Other parents will think its a goofy name. "Hey John. Is today the day that Ashley is going to Celebrity's sleep over?" See it just sounds odd.

I think you might want to really sit her down and talk to her about the name. If you can't make her see what a huge mistake it will be then grin and bear it. Do try to suggest other names though cause your poor child will suffer use your persuasive skills

I hate it.....is she trying to follow the celeb with their wild strange choices. I hate it. Think about sitting in your first High school class wand he teacher is calling roll, Jenny Smith, Bryan White, Celeberity Jones, everyone is goign to stare and she'll be embrassed. I would say no way.

My hubby wanted to name our baby Guage and I said Heck No.

It's not really a name but I guess these days anything in the dictionary goes as a name. It's really up to the two of you.

It is what the two of you like that matters, several people didn't like my daughters name, but I loved it and refused to hange my mind, now though it suits her perfectly, and everyone who mets her agrees, and people who we meet while out love it because it is unique to her. If you both like the name, and still think it suits her after she is born, then go with it. BTW my daughters name is Haylen Nadia

by naming your child celebrity you'll insure she'll never be one. A better rule is to come up with at name that sounds good with Princess (blank), (blank) esq, or Super Star (blank)
Besides, celebrity is just a horrible name and she'll get teased and be miserable. it will also be very hard for her to find a job

And how much does she want her daughter to be teased?. . . .No offense but if you want something original, that's cool. I understand that, but seriously Celebrity is a noun and a car made by Chevy not a name for a girl.

While the choice is up to you two, and you have to go with what you like. Since you are asking us what we think, maybe your not so sure of it. It is different and unusual. But if your not sure go for a different name. As a personal opinion, I don’t like but again it is not up to me.

Best of luck and congrats on the baby girl
