Because they were horrible at their jobs. They also lied, show poor judgement and acted like 13th century religious zealots. Worst of all, they are bought and sold by big drug and oil companies, and they are war profiteers (Haliburton) which is a crime. This is not just my opinion, but is well documented and easily looked up.

Because it was WAY!!! pass time for a change. The Republicans have not did anything for the people in the last 10 years. Just take money from big oil and vote their self's a BIG pay raise. So it's about time for them to be OUT!!!!!

More americans are finally opening their eyes and getting the full grip of what's going on in Iraq, how crooked the Bush administration is, and all the hypocrisy going on in the Republican Party.

Americans want to be respected and to have a respectable leader. So they voted for change.

Because they didn't live up to what they promised the voters, especially the social security reform and the illegal immigration problem. People voted against the republicans in retaliation for this

good question, was it a mandate on Iraq? was it a mandate on the Republicans acting like drunken sailors spending money and not holding true to the conservative values. i know many republicans that were upset over those things and planned on staying home..

Too many in positions of power were too entrenched in selfish ideology, too stubborn to admit to mistakes, too harsh to be open to the possibility for positive change.

They failed to represent interests of the people who put them in power. They only represent the interests corporations and lobbyists.
