Well I'm 5"7 and was hoping to know if there's any way to tell if you stopped growing? Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly content with my height right now, but I was just hoping to know if I'm going to grow up to be like a giant or not...[[which i basically am right now for my age -_-]]

And I was also wondering if there's any way to make yourself stop growing? [[psht...I don't wanna be no giant...]]

well my science teacher told me a few years ago you stop growing 18 months after you first get your period. roughly. which is about right for me. i mean ive been stuck at this height for a pretty long time. can't get past 5'3" 1/2. think about how tall your parents are. you don't sound that tall to me.

I have no clue when I stopped growing. I was 5'7.5" my senior year of high school, and by my senior year of college I was over 5'8", which was actually a surprise to me, cuz I figured I had stopped already. If you can, ask your parents how old they were when they stopped growing - that should give you a good idea of when you will/did stop. Remember that men typically stop later then women. Also, look at how tall your parents are, and any older siblings if you have any.

I had several good girl-friends in high school who were around 6 feet tall. They were self-concious sometimes, but they turned out just fine. And remember, tall people are taken more seriously and are assumed to be smarter than shorter people - it's a terrible stereotype (there's no real truth to it), but at least you can take advantage of it!

in case you're mum and dad are short then you quite could be approx. 5' 7 a million/2 - 5' 8" by potential of the time you end starting to be. that may no longer too short in any respect. yet i think of you will strengthen extra till you attain around 21 years! Michael J. Fox is only 5' 6" tall and he's a competent looking guy. did you be attentive to that maximum actors (Male) are short?

People usually stop growing at the age of 18.

If you're not 18 yet, you have a ways to go yet and may grow more until then.

Xrays can reveal whether the growth plates have fused, meaning that you have finished growing. If you have an leg injury and the doctor has the xrays just ask . We did for my daughter when she was just shy of 6 feet and 17 years old. Thank-fully she had finished growing.

how old are you?

on your yearly physicals they keep track of your height with a chart. So, as you grow they mark off your height... if you have been 5"7 on your last physical, and you still are on your new one then chances are you will not grow anymore.

you can stop eating and not grow.... but thats bad for your health
