My husband and I are expecting our first child in March. We live in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment and will not be able to buy a house until the baby is about a year old. Is it safe to use a pack n play as his full time bed until we move and can get him into a crib? Like use the bottom after he grows out of the bassinet. I like that the pack n play has the change table bassinet and bottom part all in one, we really dont have room for a change table bassinet and crib right now. Thanks

Also would it be comfy enough for him to use as his full time sleep?
The only problem I see is while hes sleeping and I go to put him down trying not to wake up. But I could be wrong.

It would be safe, but the bottom is not very comfortable, they are rather hard, and getting a sleeping baby in one is a pain in the rear. IF you could fine a crib mattress that would fit snugly in one I think that would help, but keep in mind that a mattress should have no more space around the edge than two fingers width.

You could do that but i would suggest opening the one you want to buy in the store and checking to see if when you set the baby in it is it noisy. I used mine for travel and found that when i set the baby down it would make an annoyingly loud crunchy sound and i had to place a towel under the sheet to prevent this or else it woke the baby up. As far as the changing table the floor works fine for me. I use the changing table when i am in the babies room but in the living room i have a blanket on the floor and i just change the baby there. Although immediately after my c-section i couldn't do this the first few weeks.

my husband is in the marine corps so we move about every 6 months. i got a pack n play and used the bassinet part and becuase it was so easy to move and he liked it so much, i just left it him in it as his full time crib once he outgrew the bassinet. i thought it might be uncomfortable but he sleeps so well through the night. its also great because the one we have has a little side attatchment with a light, bassinet vibrator, and music. it also has a changing table attatched and a mobile.

I would suggest contacting the manufacturer or the "Pack N Plays" for an "official answer". We have used one as a bassinett/crib for several nights in a row when travelling.
There are a lot of inexpensive cribs with adjustable mattress heights for newborn to toddler. As for a changing table, a bed or couch works fine as long as you stay with the baby.
As for your concern about the baby waking when you put him down, I would suggest that you train them to fall asleep in the crib not in your arms. It helps them sleep through the night quicker and earlier.

I think its fine! We have a second home of sorts and use the pack n play there for my 22 month old. They make these items so safe these days that I don't see what the issue would be. Just buy plenty of sheets and maybe use a waterproof pad underneath to protect the fabric matress.
Changing tables (IMO) are a waste. Save your money here for the diapers! Most of us moms end up using the bed or the floor to do our diaper changes, and the table just ends up as a catch all storage for everything.
Also, since you are crammed for space, opt for the portable swing rather than a full size model. Fisher Price makes a nice one that my kids absolutely loved!

If you don't have room for a crib and a changing table now you can get a crib and a Rail Rider. It's a changing table that hooks on to one side of the crib and lies and rests on the other side. Here's the link http://www.burlingtoncoatfactory.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Section_Id=9622&pcount=&pn=2&Product_Id=323454&sku1=k_s1_63533006&is_baby_depot=1.
You can also get a crib that comes with an attached changing table like the Simplicity Crib Changer Combo http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3132491. Good luck.

Yes, it's fine. Babies are very flexible; you won't believe the crazy position your little one falls asleep in! We used a Pack N Play for a long time full time and still use one every time we visit family. It's a great space saver, and if you already have one it's silly to buy a space-saving crib that you're only going to use for a little while.

I used ours alot when my son was little. Most cribs mattress aren't any less hard as the play and packs thing. I would say it's fine but it will be hard to lay them down and bending over all the time can be a pain.

We have a really great one -- Kolcraft Jeep Sahara XT.
It has a sleeping part and a changing part next to eachother and when he gets too old for that you take it out and it becomes a play yard. Grandma found it for us and it was great in our small bedroom. And the whole thing folds. It also has a canopy which we used when she was smaller. Has a corner piece that plays sounds and music and it vibrates also!!
Forgot to add , it also has a night light!!
