Right now both are working on 2 different scanarios. China is concentrating to strengthed her economy while US has determined to punish thecountires (who dont agree to US thoughts and not following as per US will) in this world and is playing a role of 'world's policeman'.
That's Y there is no direct competition and comparison.

No

When the economy of the State of California ranks 3rd among World Nations!

When the economy of the City of Los Angeles ranks 12th among NATIONS!

China has a long way to go!

China's economy is based on selling to EVERYONE except CHINESE!

America's economy is based on selling to Americans!

It took decades for Hong Kong to get where it is and China is patterning itself after that.

China is making nice in-roads, maybe better than Russia, but beating the economy of Italy, France, Britian, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Australia and the US.

It has a long way to go!
