I have only found the full screen edition - what aspect ratio was it originally shot at?

It was shot in aspect ratio of 1.33:1
This ratio does not allow for the full 16x9 aspect of most tvs and anything else would not allow for the full beauty of the film. A widescreen theatrical release of 1967 failed and the most recent re-release in 1998 brought it back to it's full potential.
Believe or not my name is Tara and, no, I'm not named after the movie, but it is one of my all time favorite films.

Yes. I got mine at Walmart. I believe it is the anniversary edition.

It was made in1938, before wide screen was invented.
