There never has been a female President, but a few very strong first ladies. Nancy Reagan actually did the thinking during her husbands term and Eleanor Roosevelt was a incredible first lady. Hillary Clinton was very up front too.

Ah, the eyes of the young. Lillibut does not rule England - she is the sovereign of a democratic state ruled by Parliament. Her powers are very limited. Most Americans are not weird - they are mostly normal people, but, since they have a different approach to life and a much larger population than your country, the low percentage of loonie tunes show up more. Nah, then - I lost a bet over Hil winning the election - I actually believed that America was more ready for a woman than a black man - no disrespect, but that was my thought. I actually worked, free of charge, for a woman candidate during the last election, so nobody sticks that misogynist line on me - she was the best person for the job, which is my only criteria! When I bring about the Republic here, she will be my choice for President, and I already have a Vice President earmarked - not me. So - I figure that if the proper woman comes along, she will win the next election. The biggest stumbling block will be the feminist movement, which, apart from devaluing women's contribution to every aspect of society, supports and promotes 'laws' that no sane person wants. Therefore, they would be an obstruction to any woman candidate because many would view her as a tool of feminism. Now - if we could just behave like adults here, and just start really working on genuine equality - there might be a chance for a Ms President - but not a ratbag feminist.

Some have mentioned that Woodrow Wilson's wife, Edith Galt Wilson, during the last 15 months of Wilson's term, actually ran the country, owing to his severe stroke, but no woman has been president officially
