I don't know of a whole lot of movements going on right now, but Asian artists are selling really well at Sotheby's. Certain mediums such as painting especially rich colorful paintings are doing really well. The arena for art is really wide right now and anything seems to go, but you can get a better idea of the flow of the movementt by keeping up to date with magazines like ART IN AMERICA and ARTNEWS,ARTFORUM I read these mags alot and it keeps me up to date. It usually takes some time and looking back at current events to recognize an actually movement.

So in terms of what era we are in right now in art, we are in the post modern era, though you could probably argue that we are in the post post modern era. In terms of what movements are occuring beneathe the umbrella of the post modern era you could say: remodernism, stuckism, massurealism, rectroversion, conceptual art, maximalism, performance art, just to name a few. However, not all of these movements, or artistic tendencies align themselves with the post modern era in art.
