All it does is tick everyone off and make it harder to get work done in this country. Somebody points a finger at somebody else and so the chain begins ending with both condemning each others values and tactics and refusing to consider whether a middle ground exists. And why, because of injured pride and the desire to win? A middle ground exists people! A middle ground is what gets work done. We are not THAT different from one another! I want to hear your thoughts on this.

Yes. I am not loyal to any party. I vote based on issues and what I feel is right. But America has spoken! And Bush finally admits he is a liar. What a fraud!

President Bush pledged Wednesday to work with Democrats after the "thumping" that Republicans took on Election Day. He named a new defense secretary to oversee the war in Iraq, a change the president said was going to happen regardless of which party won the election.

Yet only a week ago, Bush told The Associated Press and other reporters in an interview that he expected Rumsfeld and Cheney to stay through the end of his last two years in the White House. Asked Wednesday about that comment, Bush acknowledged he intentionally misled reporters because he want to avoid a change at the Pentagon during a hotly contested election.

"I didn't want to inject a major decision about this war in the final days of a campaign," Bush said. "And so the only way to answer that question, and to get you onto another question was to give you that answer. ... The other reason why is I hadn't had a chance to visit with Bob Gates yet, and I hadn't had my final conversation with Don Rumsfeld yet, at that point."

He always has an excuse for his lies when the truth comes to light.

It does make a distinction. Bureaucrats, academia, previous media and previous unions tend to be overwhelmingly Democrat. All experience entitled to wealth from "magic". That magic is political, and the politicians wrest it out of something persons. As to why the consistent bashing -- this is healthful. while it stops, then you certainly ought to difficulty! And Obama's all of us is attempting to make it quit. study 1984!

Nope. It's still fun. Too much to do, to quit now. Investigations into criminal acts of the Bush Administration will begin shortly. I think a lot of people will be shocked at the results that are discovered. It won't be pretty for those few who remain, and they know it. That's why there have been private talks with Henry Kissinger (Nixon era). That's why Rumsfeld decided to cut and run yesterday.

Yup! After the past few months of negative TV / Radio ads, you bet! Not to mention republicans bashing republicans and dems doing the same to other dems! There ought to be a law!!!

You are right! We are all one people, One Great Country! And yet we act like spoiled children!

Who wins in a situation like this?

God Bless America! North, Central and South!

Amen!

BTW - Brown eyes has an excellent answer. She is just too smart! Condi, it that you?

ME! I just want to hear where everyone stands on the issues. I am sick of repubs blaming dems for bashing and dems blaming repubs for bashing while they both keep right on bashing. I'm a dem. Actually, I'm all for anarchy, but I figure that, since we live within a democratic political system, I have to choose who I beleive to be "the lesser of the two evils" so to speak... I choose dems. But, regardless of that, I will admit that there is much bashing on both sides, and it does indeed get rather old. I want to hear about issues and ONLY issues!

I agree with what you have said... and I think we need to stop the "war" in the US... it's almost like a civil war... because we are so darn divided over these political lines... Democrats vs Republicans..... In the Civil War days, it was the North vs. the South... and alot of similar issues were being fought over.. liberal vs. conservative...morality vs. immorality... so to speak, it's nearly the same as it was! Yes, we do need to stand together on a "middle ground" and work together as a nation... not divided, but as a United States... That is what our country was supposed to stand for! Are we United now? I sometimes wonder about that
so what can we do to balance the scales and bring our country back to what it was supposed to be when it was founded? Let's see... "One Nation... Under God... Indivisible... with Liberty and Justice for All" Do those words ring a "bell" for anyone else?

As Rodney King asked "Why can't we all get along?" As you point out there is a middle ground, but everyone wants to have his/her way so that come the next election they can say I voted this way on the issue so give me your vote.

It's all a matter of morality and values. The Republicans have Foley, DeLay and Abramoff. The Democrats don't.

I'm with you on this one. I am sick of the partisan bickering that has prevailed for the past decade, but in particular in the past six years. I don't care which side you're on, I will respect your views and the right to hold them. I only ask that you do the same for me.

I am! Maybe with a divided government, and perhaps Bush leading the way toward reconciliation with the Dems, that will all be a thing of the past.

Then again, maybe not :(
