Depends on what sort of work you are going for but a good contracting agency will rip your resume apart if it stinks because they will not be able to get you work with it. They are getting paid when you work so they want to present you in the best light possible to get you a job.

A resume agency has it in their best interest to say your resume needs work so that they can get paid to update your resume.
