An answer from the "right wing," which won't be too sarcastic.
Face it, Hillary can't win. If you want to bring Republicans back from the brink, nominate her.
Feingold has a chance, but Reid doesn't have a prayer (the guy is an empty suit). You also have no chance if you nominate the last two losers - Gore or Kerry. Obama, despite being the rising star, is not well known enough.
Despite what people think, sitting members of Congress do not normally get elected President. There have only been 3 in American history - Garfield, Harding, and Kennedy. Students of history already know what else those 3 had in common.
The recruiting ground is typically the governors, and the only one I see for the Democrats that really has the name recognition is Bill Richardson of New Mexico. Pairing him, a pretty moderate guy, with someone like an Evan Bayh coming from a state that the Democrats don't normally carry, could be a winning ticket, especially if the GOP nominates a loser like Bill Frist (which I don't see happening).
Right now, there is a real dearth on both sides of the aisle of people that look Presidential. It may just be that these are all Baby Boomers, the generation that doesn't know how to lead.
And sorry to tell one of the people above me, but Bill Clinton cannot be nominated for VP. Since he is disqualified from being President again, he cannot serve as VP.

I would love to see Bill Richardson run with Obama for VP. They represent the centrist side of the dems that is so badly needed right now, and Richardson has plenty of foreign policy experience.
Richardson is a real possibility for the primary...he's been pretty coy about whether he's thinking about running.

No. the u . s . a . Presidential Race is a "Winner Take All". each and each party will nominated a million and basically a million guy or woman to be on the November poll. Obama have won sufficient votes to be the democratic nominee. John McCain is the Republican nominee.

I'd love to see Evan Bayh run. He did great things for Indiana and I think he could do the same for the rest of the country.
