Because there is no rush to get married in the first place and most of us still would not want to be dating or married to guys we knew as teenagers or in our early 20's. By waiting longer we also achieve more in our own lives (like traveling or uni or a career or own business etc) so we are more rounded people and better judges of character!

Maybe they havn't found the right person, or they were too imature to marry when they were in their 20's.

My older brother was 28 when he got married, and I think he's a very mature husband and father.

My younger brother got married 2 years ago at the age of 26, and I think that he's a VERY mature husband to his wife.

So I don't think there is anything wrong with getting married at 30 or in the late 20's.

I was 20 when I was married, and if I could do it all over again I would.

It depends on who you are. I got married at 22, still married with 2 adorable twin boys and don't regret it. It doesn't mean I wasn't smart about it either. Most people don't realize that if they want children that waiting until that time (even tho these days people don't wait for marriage before having children) the longer they wait the more problems they will have. The sayin "the clock is tickin" is so true. Some people don't find the right person until later in life and some people feel they want to accomplish other goals before settleing down. To each it's own.

It probably is in part to do with life expectancy and the progession of womens rights. More women are going to college than ever before, and a lot of women are concentrating more on starting a career before they get married and have children.

Also, a woman born in 1906 was only expected to live 50 years, and probably couldn't have children after the age of 30. Now we commonly hear about women having children in their 40s, so there's not the rush to have a start a family young that there used to be.

I got married in my late 20's (28) and it was because I hadn't found true love. There is no sense in getting married at 20 if you haven't found they one you want to spend the rest of your life with. Marriage isn't supposed to be expendible... it is a vow that is supposed to be till death. Waiting until I found the right one is the best decision I ever made.

I got married when i turned 30. I waited because i wanted to make sure i was with the right person. Plus i was having too much fun enjoying life as a single person. Theres alot that changes when you get married. Its not all about me anymore, its about us.

There isn't a set formula on when a person gets married. Socially there is a formula, however that formula has changed greatly over the years. There are different reasons that one would hold off on getting married, perhaps they're establishing their careers or simply do not wish to get married.

Because they were astute enough to wait and made a mature decision. Example: was married at 22, divorced at 37 when I realized the mistake I made. I re-married at 43, and believe I made a better choice by waiting. Good luck with yours.

So they can accomplish their goals get to know themselves before they settle down. Rather than rush into something they later regret. Besides your 20's are for self discovery. And how ru going to be married to someone and you don't even know who you are when you wake up in the morning.

1. Because of their career. 2. Because they are waiting of Mr/Mrs Right. 3. Because they want to travel.

Well it really varies depending of the person's personality and their current situation but I think those are the top 3 reasons.
