I think when the country gets a load of Nancy Pelosi as Shrieker of the House sitting in back of the President when he gives his State of the Union speech they will say, "Who is that with the face that does not move?" Dems will have to mend their ways and try not to call GWB names like liar, incompetent, mentally unbalanced, etc. if they want to work with him. Pelosi cannot change her demeanor overnight and that's when the people will see what they have unleashed. GOP in 2008!

It's a victory for the American people and for Prisoners in camps. There will finally be some true "oversight" and the Democrats may end up agreeing more with Bush than anyone might think. We don't know. But there will be OVERSIGHT.

I doubt the Demos will win the Presidency. They have no Candidate I can see except Hillary and I don't think the US is ready to elect a woman president.

I put my bet on Dr. Bill Frist. I'll wager he'll even carry some Dems.

I even like him to a degree and I'm not pro Repub!

You are right- This is a shallow victory and pretty much guarantees a republican win in '08.

Bush will do what the Governator did in California- tone down the rhetoric, change course, become kinder, gentler.

Congress will still not do anything and since the Democrats still have no actual ideas, the tables will turn again in '08.

I have to wonder if this was not Rove's strategy all along, but they probably did not want to give up the Senate- that is harder to win back.

The world may start over in 2008.

That is possible, but anybody who cares about the country will not want congress and the whitehouse controlled by the same party.

Now that the Democrats control both the House and the Senate, 2008 would be a good time to vote for third party candidates.

Yah say whatever you have to to make yourself feel better. Oh I know losing it hurts sooo bad its okay. Voters were not actually promised that much. It is only two years until Bush is out of office and we get a Democrat for President again.

Every reasonable sane person knows that you can not just pull out of Iraq and they were never promised that would happen. Unless you count the Republicans saying the Democrats would cut and run, and well all know Republicans lie.

Democrats will be trying to redistribute the wealth, Nancy Pelosi already said so in her first 100 hours as speaker. They will try to attach stupid s#it to bills and the President has line item veto.

Democrats ran on getting out of Iraq, and against Bush. In 2008 when we are still there will you feel like you were lied to?

It's a good question. The Democrats have been searching for a platform for a while. The war had been such a hot topic for the Republicans that the Democrats had to sit and wait. Now will be the time of judgment. Wear your seatbelts, ladies and gentlemen.

Be careful. If people see Congress is trying to pass bills to help them, and bush uses his veto powers, there will be a Democrat in the White House in 2008. It's up to both Congress and the President...

Mark my words, if the countries who hate us and Israel find a way to make us look weak, it will be during this time of Dem rule. Democrats are sympathetic toward physical confrontation. Clinton was very weak, especially after the USS Cole attack in Yemen.
If we cut and run, we will be the paper tiger of the world.
No teeth, but plenty of hair.
