Well, I know some of them allow your kids to go to school there for free, or at least for a cheap price so long as you work there. With tuition at the level it is now, that's a big reason to work there.

I would do so to be part of a world of thought and academia. To participate in ideas and the wonder of learning and watching young people learn and develop. To be around my peers in the pursuit of knowledge. To be exposed to amazing insights as often as I wish, from seminars, peers, etc.... To have a flexible schedule.

They may sound high-falutin' but I have thought about it a lot and those are the attractions to me.

it's cheaper, you might get cheaper education for you or famiyl depending on the position, health benifits, good for applying for other work in the future.
