It usually depends on the doctor. I got mine at 17 weeks and found out the gender. A lot of doctors like to wait until somewhere between 20 and 24 weeks...just to be sure. It gets easier to tell about that time. I have heard of doctors waiting even longer than that.

Firstly Congratulations on your pregnancy,
Routine ultrasound scan
This scan is also sometimes know as the fetal morphology scan or fetal anomaly scan, A systematic examination of the baby, looking at overall growth and development of the spine, limbs and vital organs. This is the time they can also check the sex of the baby but its not 100% its alot easier to tell once the baby is bigger but if the baby is sitting in the right spot and gives a good view then this is the scan to ask.
When: 18-20 weeks

Usually they do them sometime around 20 weeks or so. If you can stall them and have it done at least at 23 weeks instead of right in the middle, you might have a better chance of finding out. Our ultrasound tech did our's at 20 weeks, and she said she usually prefers around 23 weeks because everything shows up a little clearer.

I don't know when you will get it since I can not tell the future. But you should be able to tell the gender after 20 weeks....If the baby lets you

I got mine at 18 weeks and I found out that it was a boy. It all depends on how the baby is positioned.

I had mine at 23 weeks... should have been about 20, but the little CNA miscalculated how many weeks I was and ignored what the doc said. Grrr! I am having a girl :-)

Around 20 weeks is the first possible time...but that does not mean you will definitely find out. Babies can be tricky. Sometimes you can find out around 18 weeks, but it's usually around 20.

I would wait till you are at least 21 weeks. I had one done at 19 and they told me a girl but guess what I had a boy. My brother and sister in law just had one at 20 weeks and were told it was a girl but they are thinking she might be 21 weeks instead.

4 months.. i dont know how many weeks that is, but.. Anyway, there are other ways of finding out your babies gender earlier(i dont know what theyre called) you should ask your doctor about them if you are REALLY anxious to know!!! they do cost like... $200 i think, but... I hope this helped!!!
Congradulations, by the way! I hope everything goes well for you and your little one! :D
