It's called the Republican gas tax. Everyone thinks its big oil that gains with the high cost of gas but in fact it is the government. Not only to they make more with the increase, but they get huge amounts of taxes back when the oil companies report their obscene profits. Why do you think the government lowered it's deficit prediction. They got more money in taxes from the oil companies than they expected.. Now that the election is over The republicans will let the prices rise some more to offset the cost of the war by collecting more in taxes. Don't be fooled Rush Bimbo and Sean Insanity. The Republicans have been manipulating the economy through the war for the last 4 years. Its got nothing to do with their tax cuts for the rich. Every economy works great when there is a war consuming products.

This morning it was $ 2.08 but I was late for work. In the PM, on my way home, it was $ 4.13. They are rising fast again.
