It's not true to my knowledge. But there is always a possibility that pregnancy can result from having unprotected sex at any time of the month, even during your period.
For MOST women you are likely to conceive 12 - 15 days after the date you STARTED your last period.

A woman can get pregnant at any point during her cycle. But a woman is most fertile between 12 to 16 days after the first day of her period (assuming she has the "normal" 28 day cycle. This is according to the instructions for the temperature chart my ob/gyn gave me to track my basal body temperature - I'm trying to get pregnant.
