Hon, kids this age can be very cruel. The only way to get through this is to mainly ignore them, as hard as that sounds. And hon, you're only 12, don't worry about "dating" right now. Keep your mind on your studies and try your best to make good grades. Look to your future and what you want to make of yourself. You have all of your adult life to worry about finding a guy. Be yourself and don't try to be anything else. Hold your head up high and walk with a confidence that noone can knock down. It will all pass as soon as they find someone else to talk about.

How typical. Put a stop to the rumors by getting to the source. Find out who's starting them. Then you have a few options. You could, beat them up. You could, start evil rumors about them. You could, go whine to your parents or counselor. Or, you could just ignore the whole thing and not worry about what other people think since its not going to matter in the least once you get into high school or college. If someone comes up to you and says "I heard such and such", say "oh really, where did you hear that from" "Well do you think its true" "have you seen me with that many guys" "Your worthless if you think I'm that loose" and so on..... The guy you like is saying no because he doesn't like you. Don't push it with him, find someone worthy of your presence. Remember that people like self confidence, so if you pretend like your the queen, you'll become the queen. Just don't take it too far.

One way to stop rumors is to accept them but exagerate them to the point of ridicule. For example, Bob is rumoredly being accused of stealing office supplies at work. When Page tells Bob of the rumor, Bob ought reply "Yea, I steal office supplies, but only so I can feed my 15 children." It is highly unlikely that Bob has 15 children, and as the rumor spreads, it will be updated. Thus the rumor will cancel itself out by being ridiculously false.

In your case, I suppose you could make a statement such as "Seven? At the same time, maybe.. I go out with twelve people a day; what can I say, I can't help it!"
Or "I only dated him for six hours because the FBI's after me and I overheard them saying they'd get anybody who dated me more than 6 hours."
Or "School wh0re? You must have misheard, I am the school horror. I HAUNTED seven people. DON'T get on my bad side."
Or "They were practice dates, I wanted to practice for a real date" (That one could really hurt some of the guys you've gone out with so I consider considering the consequences first)
Or "Seven, huh? I guess no one's heard about Bellony Boy's Band."

Whatever, please make ur own quote, I didn't spend much time thinking. That was a strategy from "Get Anyone to do Anything" by David J. Lieberman.

I think you should go with honesty, but that's just me. You wrote "Apparently, I am the school hoar," which has the word apparently in it. You shouldn't base everything on something that is only just apparent. It could appear to you that you are the school hoar when it really is only the thought of one disgruntled person. Don't base your life on such things, you can probably do with just ignoring them. The people you care about shouldn't be judging you by the rumors that surround you anyways, if they cared, they would get to know you through you. Otherwise, they're not worth it as far as I'm concerned.

Ps, you have a beautiful name.

Someone is jelous of you at this school and started this awful rumor. If the boy you like rejects you, leave him alone. He has judged you before getting to know and that makes him a bad choice. I know that you don't want to hear this but you have plenty of time for dating. Focus on your school and observe those people around you before picking friends. These rumors should die down after everyone sees that you are not easy.

It just takes time. Tell your parents about the trouble you are having, maybe they can advise you better ,then the strangers on this site. be careful not to reveal your age, that can cause problems for you too.

It is clear to me now cuz I am older so believe me when I say that if you are hearing runors about yourself, then people areenvious or jealous of you. So, the best thing for you to do is be nice and sweet (not too much) to everyone. Let them see how nice you are and just be real. they start rumors because they dont know you. They can only speculate about you. I think that it would help to try to let people get to know you. Make a few more friends at lunch or in the bathroom or afterschool. Dont be too pushey or defensive. Just be normal and not too quiet. Smile alot and dont turn to the wrong crowd for support. And hold an asprin between your knees!

That sucks. . Wow, you're only in 7th grade? That REALLY sucks. . For now, I'd just try to ignore it. . If anyone says anything to your face tell them the truth and don't back down.

Also, you might want to tell the boy you like that ball those rumors where lies. . just mention 'em in passing or whatever, when you guys are having a normal conversation. He might just be freaked out by the idea that you've been dating seven other guys.

Hey....I come from a small town and rumors fly like crazy! Rumors about me went around! One thing I learned is ignore it...there to bored with their own lives sooo they try to make your life hell!! Don't worry about it..your above that. If you react to the rumor by getting mad or sad they will feel they have won! Be in control of this situation, when someone asks you about it just ask them wether they believe it or not. You will find as you get older who your true friends are. Good Luck! Just wait till you get older and all the guys are wanting your attention!!!

Okay hun honestly don't worry about dating right now when you get into highschool you will see what i mean you will not want a boyfriend! All guys do is cause drama no matter what they say espcially in highschool rumors start without you even doing anything wrong you say one thing and people who don't like you will say things so don't worry about having a boyfriend you have plenty of time for dating i know it sounds stupid now but you have plenty of time for it wait awhile enjoy being a kid when things aren't as complicated k?

Good Night and Good Luck,

Ignoring the newest rumor is the best way to make them go away.

Focus on meeting people who seem interested in finding out who you are and not talking about who they think you are.

Don't worry you will be fine. Adjusting to new things always takes some time.

Omigosh that sucks. i am new this year, too. what you should do is ignore that rumor and look for friends who have ignored that rumor, too. anyone decent wouldn't pay attention to a rumor without any proof that it was true. these people would be REAL friends. and anyway, even if that rumor was true, its no one's business who you've gone out with.
