Loose undies, such as boxers and also not having sex as frequently can possibly help out. Good luck!
By quality what do you mean, taste? If so, lay off of red meat, onions, garlic and coffee. ;-)

My boyfriend has a low sperm count, he's doing all the boxers, not drinking etc etc - he's just started acupuncture, which has proven to increase levels, and she gave him some vitamins to take 3 times a day. Hopefully it will work, we've been ttc for nearly 2 years and had numerous other tests, his sperm is the only thing that's wrong with us. I'm working on the proviso that it only takes one.... Good luck x

HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Stop smoking. Smoking is linked to low sperm counts and sluggish motility, and recent findings suggest a 64 percent increase in miscarriage when both partners smoke or when just the man smokes.
Give up marijuana. Long-term use of marijuana in men results in a low sperm count and sperm that exhibit abnormal patterns of development.
Stay off the sauce. Chronic alcohol abuse damages the intricate plumbing of the male reproductive system, reducing a man's ability to produce normally formed sperm cells.
Ease up on intense exercise. Men who exercise excessively may be reducing their sperm count due to the heat that builds up around the testicles during strenuous exercise.
Up your C. Low vitamin C levels may cause sperm to clump together, rendering as many as 16 percent of all men infertile.
Check into your antibiotics. Some groups of antibiotics have been shown to affect sperm quality temporarily by decreasing count and motility. These groups are nitrofurans (nitrofurazone or nitrofurantoin) and macrolides (erythromycin).
Stay clear of environmental poisons and hazards. These include pesticides/insecticides, organic solvents, lead, ionizing radiation, heavy metals, and toxic chemicals.
Check your nutrition. If you're malnourished or not getting enough of the right foods and nutrients, your sperm count could suffer.
Keep your scrotum cool. Watch out for excessive heat in the scrotal area. Wear loose-fitting underwear (not tight jockey shorts), and avoid tight-fitting jogging pants. Avoid hot tubs, hot baths, saunas, or hot work environments.
Abstain, but not too long. Brief periods of sexual restraint (three to six days) seem to increase both the volume and potency of semen. Prolonged abstinence, on the other hand, will result in a higher volume of older sperm, which exhibit decreased motility.

Its definitely not hopeless, just hang in there. You'll be able to conceive when the time is right. I'm sure there could be lots of causes of it not working yet, especially since you are trying to take care of your health, cut back on drinking, etc. Personally, Ive always been suspicious about claims that smoking causes infertility, because I'm a pretty heavy smoker myself, and that didnt stop me from accidentally getting pregnant several years ago, by a guy in his early 30s who was himself also a heavy drinker and smoker. In fact, like tons of people in my family are also smokers, and they manage to get knocked up all the time. So just based on personal experience, I wouldnt worry if you smoke the occasional cigar or pack of cigarettes, thats probably not it. Just keep on trying for another year or so, or try one of those fertility monitors, and see how that goes. Also, theres always the option for your wife to just keep trying with another man's sperm. As long as your cool about it, she might really be attracted to that option. Just dont sweat it, and keep trying different options and she'll be pregnant before you know it!

There are two amino acids, L-Carnitine and L-Arginine, that are important in sperm production.
Also vitamins B, C, and E.
And the minerals zinc and selenium.
There are some pre-formulated supplements on the market. My RE recommended one called Fertility Blend for Men.

If he smokes or drinks coffe, he has to quit and if he does drugs or drinks don't try to concieve until six months after, it'll all help, especially the drug part, don't do it if he is on drugs! Also, if he wears boxers instead of briefs this will help the temperature down there be more able to produce more sperm. Good luck

A fertility specialist told us that exercising ones tool will increase sperm count (masturbate more often). About every 2nd or 3rd day, because if you exercise it regularly you will produce new healthy sperm.
