When you say not too expensive, what price range are you looking at? Places such as Kabuki, which was suggested earlier, are really very pricey. Also, what sort of cuisine are you after?

Maybe you'd be better off perusing something such as an online restaurant guide, which will allow you to select price range, location, cuisine, etc?

For something a little bit different, I would recommend somewhere like Tukka in West End, that serves native Australian cuisine or the Belgian Beer Cafe in the City. If you're looking for somewhere cheaper, maybe one of the Asian restaurants in Fortitude Valley.

Depending on what you like to eat, here are four eating establishments in Brisbane that are top of the line.

1. Breakfast Creek Hotel/Steak, Barbecue

2. Kabuki/Japanese

3. Oxley's on the River/Fish/Seafood

4. Caravanserai/Turkish.
