It really depends; there's a big difference between playing dress-up with Barbie and the Disney princesses, and collecting expensive china dolls, for example.
There is a special, detailed type of doll in Japan called Volks, which is more well-crafted than Barbie dolls and can be an extremely expensive hobby. Most of the people that collect Volks dolls in the U.S are 16 years old or older. It's not really so much about playing with those dolls, the hobby is usually more about creating your own customized doll with different clothing, eye types, face types, etc. I was into those dolls when I was 14.
And adults often collect cute porcelain or other types of expensive or brand-name dolls because of the art or beauty aspect, which I don't consider immature. But teens playing dress-up and make-believe is a bit immature.

Yes. I do it, but only in the privacy of my home. I also have a few friends that I can play them with. I don't know, playing with them is just a bunch of fun for some reason. I mean, making up those stories and being able to make the doll do whatever you want. It's a lot of fun.

Well, if I can still play with dolls at 50, I should think a teenager can! As long as you aren't hurting anyone else, why should anyone else care what you do!

hell yea! it sparks creativity and imagination!!! I have Barbies...and im 18. i haven't played with them in a long time but i see no problem w/it. once in a while i like to dress them up..i have so many diff. clothes to choose from and so many dolls..its loads of fun if you have a pretty huge collection like i do. and i have a few Bratz which i play with once in a while.

I'm 40something I have a Zena doll and wonder woman (barbie size) Sometimes they battle winner gets the others crown or belt.
I hope santa brings me chucky and his bride dolls

hell yeh its fun to dress them up do there hair and put all the cool clothes on them no ones perfect and we all play with toys or dolls no matter how old we are dont let any one tell you different..

I re-pose my KISS dolls, wrestlers and other rock stars on days off.
