Yes, if you devote more than 24 hours to it.

Holidays are made to be celebrated. Though Kwanzaa is an African-American holiday, anyone can celerate it. I think your neighbors are the weird ones for having a problem with it. Kwanzaa is about empowerment so if you want to celebrate it- mo powa 2 ya.

You can celebrate anything you want. It's not weird if you enjoy celebrating Kwanzaa.

It wouldn't matter if anyone else found you weird. If you feel comfortable celebrating it, then go for it! Who cares what everyone else says OR thinks?
I look at it as another holiday. Yes, it was created so that African Americans could celebrate something that was, at the time of its creation, specifically for them. However, since times have changed, so has social norms. Anything goes right about now.
I say enjoy your holiday. Congratulations.

You wold be considered just as equally weird if you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, or Ramadan. A holiday is an observance of something, a celebration. Just because your white it doesn't mean you can't celebrate a holiday for African Americans. I'm Jewish yet I have gone to all types of churches, mosques, temples! Happy holiday!

Yes, it is kind of weird because Kwanzaa is-- “…a Black alternative to the existing holiday [Christmas] [to] give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant society.”
-Ron “Maulana” Karenga-Founder of Kwanzaa.

Well, yes although to be fair I think African-Americans who celebrate it are a little weird too. Seriously, why on earth do you celebrate Kwanzaa?

yeah i think it's weird, guess i'm the only one...why did you just up and decide to start celebrating it? What meaning does it carry for you? Are you just trying to be unique or something? I think your celebration of it is a mockery of the holiday! Holidays such as kwanzaa hold a special meaning to many black people and i don't think they'd appreciate you celebrating it to just try to be cool! I stopped bringing my friends to church with me when I discovered that they were only going b/c they thought "church girls" were hot- yeah they are, but i don't promote celebrating a religion or holiday w/ alterior motives.
be who you are, not what you think is cool!

Made up holiday...... but its a shame. Every other culture has roots going way back and can rely on them. Why is it african americans dont have one culture to look toward? True Africans dont seem to have this issue.
