Well, in a case here where I live a 16 and 17 year old were tried for murder. One got 40 years the other got 45 years.

A jury most likely wont sentence a teen to die, infact, I don't believe a death penalty has ever been given to a teen. Life in prison is probably the max and even then they stand a good chance to get parole unless they killed 800 people.

A teen could be sentenced for committing murder if the killing employed treachery and pre-meditation in order to consummate the crime.
