I'm sure it applies to young people too, but what is the big deal about your vote needing to be "private"? Are you so ashamed of your position you don't want anyone to know? Is it some archaic tradition? I just think its weird. What do you think?

I was a volunteer for Harold Ford Jr. and I got to make phone calls asking if people were going
vote and if they had early voted ,ask if they favored the Democratic candidate. I found that 40% of people ..even if they voted democratic...Did not want to reveal that kind of information...
I think it is like taliking about finances...It is very personal and private for alot people...I just respectd that and thanked them for voting...My I have found most people like to keep that stuff to themselves...Big mouths like me...I tell everyone..i want the world to know...I support Harold Ford Jr...And We will be back...

Well, because their wisdom has taught them that they CAN be secretive about their vote, and that's ok! They have learned not to express every thought that comes to their head, and they have come to realize that, while valid, their opinion really is not relevant unless someone asks for it. And even then, they have learned that often it is best to answer a question with a question. Right? lol

What a good question. Maybe they're a republican voting democratic or a democrat voting for a republican. They should just lie if thats the case. I don't think it should be so private.
