How long before regular periods return after depo provera? I was on depo for seven years. My last shot was on November 3rd 2005. I started my first period 2 days ago since the depo shot. I have heard of people bleeding for weeks straight. Please tell me stories.

Everyone's period after depo is different. Ask a hundred people and you'll get a hundred different opinions. You may bleed longer for the first couple of periods, but other people do just fine coming off depo. If you bleed longer than 7 days, call your gynecologist.

I was on the Depo for 5 years and I did not have a period. When I stopped it was a year before I had a period it lasted about 2 days and light . I still have 2 day light periods and its been 7 years. The doctor says it is just normal for me. I'm not complaining.

WHen I got off depo I got my period within 3 months, but it took about 5 years for them to become regular. That just happened I am never going on Depo again and I am only 26 years old.

I was on the shot of 3 years. The whole time I was on it I didnt have a period. When I got off of it, it was about 6 months later and I finally got a period that lasted about 2 days and it was really light. Another 6 months went by without a period and then one day there it was. It was heavy and it lasted about 5 days. That was about a year ago and I have been getting normal periods ever since. I do know that the longer you are on it the longer it takes to bounce back from it. You may have a few strange periods and then it will be normal again.
