One rule to remember: Less is more.
Accessories
If you are wearing a belt, it should match or complement your shoes, but your purse doesn't have to.
If you choose to wear animal prints, use only one piece in an outfit. Don't go with a purse, belt, and shoes all in leopard print. It starts to look like you are wearing the animal.
If you use a bold, vivid color in one thing, it should be the only thing that stands out. Never use something like fushia in a bag, belt, and shoes. Too much attention on your accessories can look gaudy, and take away from you and your outfit.
Your shoes should be as dark, or darker, than your hemline. When wearing a skirt or dress, having your feet the center of attention adds pounds to your legs, and takes away from your overall look.
Jewelry
If you wear costume jewelry, the fake stones should be small. They only stand out as cheap immitations when they get bigger.
Keep all jewelry clean. Metals should be tarnish-free, and the stones should shine. Dull, dirty jewelry just makes a woman look low-class.
I'm a big fan of keeping all jewelry metals the same. I don't like pairing silver earrings with a yellow gold necklace, but it's really personal preference.
If your earrings are big or long, then make sure your necklace is a simple chain, with no more than a pendant. And if your necklace is chunky or complicated, keep the earrings small.
Don't wear more than 1 or 2 rings per hand.
Don't wear bracelets on both arms if you are wearing more than one per wrist. And don't wear more than 3 on one wrist.

Don't go overboard with all the trendy stuff. Pick one at a time or you'll look like you're trying too hard.
Personally I like to match my jewelry to my top so today I am wearing purple studs and a purple and pink mix pendant.
I like the legging with a short skirt and boots look that is in right now. Or skip the skirt and go for a top long enough to cover your bottom.
If you can afford designer clothes and accessories again only wear one at a time.
Whatever you do remember if you like what you're wearing and feel comfortable then go with it. Don't worry about what other people will think!

Be simple. Don't wear earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, a watch, rings, etc. Wear a matching earring and necklace set with a low cut shirt or just earrings. Wear rings only on your ring finger on your right hand. Wear a watch but not a bracelet or vice versa. A little goes a long way.

Just don't over do it. If you wear earrings, add a bracelet. If you are wearing a necklace, wear small studs, and a low cut shirt. If you are accessorising with a purse, don't over do it with jewellery or belts, but maybe similar color shoes/boots.

wear hoop earrings. like that other girl said, dont wear big accessories together! get a big necklace. get a cool bangle bracelet that kind of matches a lot of the clothes you wear of creates a nice contrast. it really depends on your style.

Well, don't wear big shoes, a red nose, and white foundation! Other than that you can wear anything you want!
P.S. Big, Baggy Colorful clothes not the best idea either!
