I had something really stranged happened to me. About 2 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. I did 3 pregnancy tests (two different brands) within the two weeks and they all came back positive. I knew exactly when I got pregnant (Oct 13th). I had all the signs of being pregnant (swollen and tender breast, decrease in appetite, nausea and constipation). Last Friday I started having cramps so I called my doctor and got an appointment for Tues Nov 7th 3:45pm. At 6am on Tues my cramps got worse and I started bleeding. I had clogs a little bit smaller than the size of a dime. Any how, by the time I got to the hospital at 3:45pm I was no longer pregnant (per my doctor). They drew my blood and today I found out that my blood pregnancy test was negative and my HCG level was 8. The doctor told me that I was never pregnant, however I find this hard to beleive. My husband and I accepted the fact that there is no baby, but we can not accept the fact that I was never pregnant. How could this be?

If your HCG level was at an 8 then you were pregnant and had a miscarriage.Women who are not pregnant have an HCG level under 5 if any at all.Your levels drop after a miscarriage.I too had a miscarriage at 5 weeks pregnant and my levels were around 8.I am sorry for you-try again! After my 1st miscarriage we tried again and got pregnant with my now 18 months old son.It will happen!

I'm guessing that your doctor phrased this wrong, or hoped to ease the blow by saying it this way. Losses that happen before 8 weeks are generally diagnosed as a "blighted ovum", in which the egg implants, but the fetus never forms. Some people claim that means you aren't/weren't pregnant. I don't believe that line of thinking at all.

I'm not a doctor, and don't have any medical training to back what I'm saying, but I've lost 3 pregnancies before 8 weeks, all with the same diagnosis.

Happened to me too. you just wanted to be pregnant so much that your brain fooled your body into thinking it was pregnant and it produced all the hormones needed for a few days. I'm sorry, it hurts especially when you really want to be pregnant. Stop trying for a few months for your body to get back into shape, and just have sex for fun instead of with the end result being a baby. Remember when sex was fun?
