It's just your cervix cleansing itself out. A clear color is normal, and usually lasts only a week... I think a week before your P is when it hits the most. If you notice any abnormal colors, green, or yellow... and it smells bad... you have a yeast infection. And sometimes those itch too. And at some point in your life, if you haven't yet, you'll notice almost dark red to black looking stuff coming out... that's the same as the clear white, but it happens w/in the 2 weeks after your period by cleansing your cervix out. Mostly just be worried about itching and smell.

Your mother is not wrong.. listen to her. You are a normal female experiening normal female bodily functions. It is just as she said, a vaginal discharge. We all go through it. Sometimes it is clear, sometimes on the whiter side.. However, if you are really worried about it a trip to the doctor is always a good idea just to make sure and put your mind at ease! Keep in mind this is just one of many changes a female body will face.. Expect more crap!

It's normal to have that discharge there. Everyone gets it at one time or another. It comes and goes based on your hormones. It's nothing to worry about.
However...If it should get to look like cottage cheese and smell bad, see a doctor because it would be a yeast infection.

It could be a normal discharge and sometimes it will let up and sometimes not. You also should wear a cotton crotch pantie to help to absorb the moister, but if you start to itch there then you could start a yeast infection.

I'm 13, and I've had it too. I got it right after I got my period, and I think it's just natural. Don't worry about it, and we will both become normal and regular. Good luck!
PS-- Mine drips when I pee!

a woman has a normal ammount of discharge which is our bodies natural cleanser and lubricant for sex. it ends when you go through menopause at about 60, however if you have any itching or burning or its smelly, tell your mother you think you need to see a doctor. welcome to womanhood.
