I am totally clueless, last time I had a 'personal listening device' was a cassette walkman! Never even had a CD player! I want something decent, easy to use, fairly cheap but decent quality...what do you recommend...!

u can get the ZenV 2Gb for $119 or 1Gb for $89. It's very nice. I have the ZenVisionM, it's amazing, but it think it's too expensive for you.

Depends sooooooooo much on how much memory you want, if you want to veiw pics etc... but most inportant: THE COST! I have an iPod Video 30gb ($200-$350) and a 512mb iriver T30($45-$75). I am incredibly pleased with my iPod, but I still recomend iriver (iriveramerica.com) for an mp3 player only. DONT GET A T30! get an ifp-series (depending on mb: $25-$100?) which I used to have a 128mb one, but the memory was far to small... thats basically all the XP i have with the things. I hope you have good luck and find something your happy with!

Both are good but the MP3 player is easier to handle or to put music into it the iPod everysong you have in Media Player or is in MP3 format has to be converted into iPod selection but putting video on a video one is harder.
