I know exactly what you are talking about my daughter was born May 04 of this year, and she takes her bottle and when it comes time to burp her she screams and cries. Some babies love to be burped and others don't. With my daughter Madison it isn't that she is still hungry it is she just loves to comfort of having something to chew on. However; most babies at 6 months of age can burp themselves just set her up slowly and see if that helps her transition.

sounds like you have a bossy one on your hands. lol my 3 month old is the same way if she goes for more then 4 hours without a meal (sleeping)

what i do do is feed her a little more often when she is awake... but less portions. so instead of every 3 hours and 4 - 5 oz i give her like 3 oz every 2.5 hours or so. this will let me stop her half way through and burp her. I also switched her bottles to the playtex ones with the screw tops and bottoms that allow the air to exscape from the bottom of the bottle when she is feeding. this lets me feed her a little bit more, without having to burp her just as soon or as frequent.

Also try to give her a little water before she takes a bottle... this will help fill her up a little bit, and you will be able to feed her about the same and let her burp.

and i do disagree with the person who said babies get full and know when to stop... my child does not. and i have seen many children who will eat until they vomit because its too much.

mothers best judgment is key and should always be used.

My son did the same... but actually around 4 months, our son would drink, and then let a burp out... on his own without us having to burp him- now not all babies are like that... so maybe since she does get tummy aches, give her a little more than you do before you burp her... maybe she will be more satisfied... otherwise, I say it is natural for them to cry for a little bit when you take the bottle away-it's their way to let you know they are still hungry.

My babies used to do the same. Trying giving her 2 more ounces than usual then burp her. it could be that she's not getting enough in that 1 sitting so that's why she's mad...lol...aww...I remember those days like it was yesterday.

She's going to cry if she's really hungry. Maybe try feeding her before she gets too hungry.

If she's teething, she might cry when you take the bottle away because it soothing to her. If she's getting bad tummy aches though, I would talk to her doctor about trying a different formula.

Hope that helps you out!

Make sure your daughter is really hungry and not gassy. when a baby has an air bubble their instinct is to suckle, so be certain that she is hungry. Once you have determined tha she is really crying from hunger, give her one-two more ounces and then try to burp her.

yes, its normal. try anticipating her hunger, and feeding her a bit earlier, so she isn't so greedy. At 6 months, she should be able to burp by herself if you let her. just make sure she is sitting up when she eats

you're not supposed to take the bottle away until she's full. babies know when to stop when they're full, that's just biology. so when she's finished with it, she just simply drop the bottle to the side. this is when you burp her.
