I'm not for or against this subject...just want to know what others think.

I was posed a question the other day.

We know the Dems thoughts on "women's right to choose" when it comes to abortion....what about a "man's right to choose"?

What I mean is, if a woman can choose not to have a child and abort it, should a man have the right to not support a child he doesn't want? If so, should he have to give up his parental rights if he chooses not to suppport the child?

Again, I don't support and I'm not opposed to the subject.

Thanks!

By the way, I have two sets of twins that I support. One set isn't mine biologically, and their sperm donor doesn't pay child support willingly (they'll arrest him if he doesn't).

I personally don't believe that anyone should be forced to care for a child... and there is some bias in the women's direction due to them carrying the baby. But I don't think it's fair that men can be expected to pay for the child if the women chooses not to abort... That's a really tough call, though, because you don't want to take away the responsiblity of either party and provide excuses for more unwanted pregnancies.... hmmm...

Keeping the legs crossed wins again!

That's a really good question! I was talking about this the other day. I def. think a man has a right to choose just as much as a woman. These rights tend to always be pointed to a woman. I takes two to tango and both lives are equally affected by this one decision. But people tend to go back to look who's carrying the baby. Of course a woman is going to be more emotionally attached to the baby soo...I really think it should be a 50/50 decision. I dont support abortion so I guess some who who does support it would have a different answer!

Yes, he can do that but would have to relinquish all parental rights and not allowed contact with the child. Happened to my niece and her little girl's daddy knows nothing about her nor cares. But that's good for the child in this case.

The right to choose as you say is about a womans right to determine what is done to her body. What you are proposing is a right to reject paternity and escape responsibility - something entirely unrelated to Roe v Wade and something that women won't and shouldn't allow.

Two different questions
1. Abortion is about life or death.
2. Paying for what you create is just the right thing to do.

Good point. However, if a man does that it will only hurt the child. That child will know that his/her dad chose to abandon them and it will hurt them psychologically.

this again? **rolls eyes**

answer ... Men need to participate in birth control. if you engage in unprotected sex you're as responsible for the unplanned pregnancy as the woman. regardless of what the woman says she's doing by way of birth control men need to take their own precautions.either keep it in your pants or protect yourself.

unprotected play = protracted pay.

some males are so despicable. always trying to weasel out of responsibility.
