We actually do better economically with a divided congress. If they don't change the operating rules, the economy is self correcting for the most part. It will also be harder for any off the wall plans someone might have in any area to get started. Hope they cancel each other out for a long time.

ELATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The corrupt republicans who have trampled our rights and caused so much damage to us internationally are defeated. As I heard today from a news commentator--this is not the republican party of Reagan, or even the party that Gingrich won with in 1994. It has succombed to the corruption that comes with too much power, and few restraints. And it capitalized on hot button issues, abortion, gay rights, etc that have no real impact on everyday life for americans, yet appeals to certain voters as a win or no win issue. At the same time they were catering to the religious folk, they were calling them whacks behind their backs. I still can't believe so many got as many votes yesterday as they did--Allen for instance in Virginia, after making clearly racist statements during his campaign, yet people still supported him!

As a republican, kinda happy, maybe we'll get back on the right track and will operate in a way a free country is supposed to, instead of a communist country.

I don't mind when both parties share the power - maybe there
will less stupid laws passed. Let 'em bicker amongst themselves
and leave working people alone.

The country was like the titanic before it went down for the last count. Now the balance is back. Remind them every day that they are public servants and they will serve, unlike the Fascist Neoconservatives.

The air is so much sweeter now in America
