Are they also entitled to 13th month pay, security premiums, medical insurance and the like?

Not many places, but some do. Peninsual Hospital in Burlingame CA does. However, the minimum hours must be 20 per weeek, part of their bargaining agreement. Everyplace has its own rules.

It really depends so much on the individual company's policies. Some companies (like Starbucks) do offer similar or equal benefits amongst their full time employees and part time employees.

I suggest you get them to clarify during the interview.

Depends on the company. Where I work, part-time workers do have benefits, though I'm not sure of the extent of them. I know they have access to medical insurance, at the very least.

Totally up to employer......or union agreement.....or their employee handbook policy that establishes benefits. Companies all have different rules and policies. Better to ask your HR rep to find out about benefits.
