yea
if i had the chance, i'd go ;-)
it might be hard to adjust to the new country's cultures and customs
japan, for instance, has very strict customs- if you forget any of them, they would think it was an insult

I am actually from overseas in the U.S. right now. It is the best experience ever. Not only that you get to experience another culture but you also have the chance to learn another language. The language is not a difficulty. You learn that so fast living in a hostfamily and even if you make mistakes nobody cares and everybody helps and supports you. The only difficulty is to make the decision and say goodbye to your friends and family for a year -- but I can assure you that it is worth doing it.
HAVE FUN!!!
PS. A great exchange program is GIVE

I do not see challenges, I see nothing but wonderful opportunities and amazing lessons to be learnt, especially about oneself. I love the idea of embracing a new culture and new people and new surroundings.

For me, an amazing life experience to be soaked up and enjoyed!

Yeah, what better way to get wasted when you're under 21. Plus you're in another country so any gf/bf ties in the US don't count
