What is the purpose of shower gel?

I know I sound like a dork asking this, but I have never really known. Is it the same as body wash or what?

Shower gel is another word for body wash. It sounds better, I think. It has more moisturizing qualities to it and doesn't dry out your skin like soap. It also holds the fragrance longer than soap. It's easier to wash with than sticky messy soap. It lathers better too. There are more different fragrances than with soap.

It's pretty much the same as body wash, but in gel form. Unlike soap, it does not leave residue on your body or on the tub/shower.

2 clean us duhhh but it is da same as soap and body wash except 4 dem little things dat stay on you r body so dat you can smell good after getting out of the tub/shower ya dig and it leaves dat stuff in da tub/shower wateva it don't matter!!

It's a gel shower bar...smelly and you don't have the slimy soap sliding down the shower. It's not as messy

yea, it's the same thing. it just usually looks better or smells really good. it's just called that because it's more of a gel substance than most soaps.

lol i never use it but it's a soap substitute for those who want to have a stronger, more natural smell when not using perfume. it's also alot cleaner to use because it doesnt leave all those residues on your shower floor.
