I really enjoy all the crappy answers. First of all, both companies make good products, and neither one suffers from these "widespread" compatibility issues everyone seems to talk about. The X1900XTX has better specs, and it beats the 7950 on almost all benchmarks. That makes the decision pretty simple, and cuts out all the biased garbage.

Also, if what you are saying is that your computer is from 1999, there is no way you have PCI Express slot unless you have upgraded the motherboard.

the better vid card would be BFG GeForce NVIDIA SLI-Ready GeForce OC 7950GT 512MB Video because first of all, you would not run into any software conflicts but performance wise, the ATI Radeon X1900 XTX PCI-Express 512MB Video Card is one of the best in the market today one of it's advance features is the nanotechnology used to produce awesome and the the best game graphics that realyy surpasses the graphics ability of the nvidia cards and no one can better match that.. so take your pick bro...

I have found two interesting articles called:

"NVIDIA GeForce 7950GT vs ATi Radeon X1900XT"

http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=585
http://au.gamespot.com/features/6156171/index.html?sid=6156171&cpage=1

Both graphics cards are good...

Rather than just asking for peoples opinions (which may biased), you should read tech lab tests on their actual performance.

Hopefully these two detailed articles comparing NVIDIA GeForce 7950GT against ATi Radeon X1900XT
will help you make a more informed decision as to which one to buy.

Good luck.

Thank you BIG FINGER for the articles comparing both cards.

I was also looking at both of these cards - it was an excellent read.

Why did someone give you a thumbs down???????????
(this is by far the best answer).

If it were me I'd wait a bit till the DX10 cards come out. If you can't wait just get a cheaper card. DX9's days are numbered.

7950gt is better than 1900xtx. only 1950xt can compete with 7950gt. don't listen to those other biased answers
