i own a repair shop,and they do offer degrees in the automotive field , i have a full degree in automotive engineering and own and operate my own shop,and i usually make around 35 bucks an hour,but you have to stay up to date on it, i update every year, if not you get left behind real fast but you can earn some good money doing it,but you have to like that type of work,because it not as glamorous as some other jobs are,,good luck i hope this help,s.

Well I have the same degree and have made as little as 8.00 per hour and as high as 25 and hour.
What you need is experence
I have been a mechanic for over 30 years and a few years ago I went back to get my degree. It did help me with the new cars but I can't say it helps much.

they don't get degree's....they get certified in different areas. and you don't start off at anything, each job pays by how long it should take.
