So sorry about your mom, no one deserves to be treated like that by their own parent(s).
You should start at the top, and work your way down. That way you don't end up with feminine clothing when, from the neck up, you still look like a tomboy. It's easier to pull off great hair and makeup with boy-ish clothes.
Since you are a mom, you probably don't have a ton of disposable income to throw away experimenting with new looks. So try virtual makeovers. Some are free, some aren't, but it's a less expensive way to try out new makeup and hairstyles. Start with Covergirl. They have a quiz where you fill out the information about your own coloring, and they match you up with the right makeup colors, plus a bunch of tips and how-to's.

In addition to the hair and makeup, the virtual makeovers also allow you to try on different clothing styles. There are also a lot of sites that help you find your body type, and how to choose the right styles to flatter it. And also, knowing what colors will flatter your coloring (skin, eyes, and hair.)

You should start with small changes. Trying to go from one extreme is not only expensive, but it's also hard to do. Add one or two things per month so you have a chance to get used to a new look and routine.
Feel free to email me if you have any more questions, or if you just want more info. This is getting too long as it is :-)

Wow, your mother has some serious issues. Good to see that you sound OK.

I would start by looking at girl's magazines, like Cosmoplitan, Cleo, Marie Claire, and seeing how they dress and put makeup on models. In most issues of those magazines, they have some makeup tips. So you can start looking at those and selecting the styles you like, and developing your own look.

Those magazines will also tell you what clothes are in this season. If you want to follow trends that is up to you. What I do is find a few nice pieces each season, and dress in my own style.

Have a look at a few of these web sites for some ideas:

I think the guy is a real dumb a$$. I have been in 2 -7 year relationships, where the women for some reason seemed to want larger breasts, both where awesome c's. I loved them the way they where. Yet to make them happy I bought them both, obviously years apart these herbal growth pills. Before I knew it the said they where working and then they where out sharing them (there 2 now larger friends, poky and perky) with other guys. I'm not sure what point I was getting to, but ditch the dude. Or he'll probably just go out and find some chick with bigger breasts and even if a one night fling, it's 2 much. He already told you what he thought, now it's your turn to listen. Drunk or not it came from his lips, what's it going to be next time?? To Loose, To fat, ??? He's a drunk, who needs that bs.

You could get with some of your friends and they can help you. You might just have to buy some makeup and wear it outside the house, like put it on when you get to school and take it off before you get home. I don't know how old you are, but you might just have to do this till your 18 then you can do whatever you want. Just because she grew up like that doesn't mean you have to. You are your own person after all. She should respect that. Have you actually sat down with her and talked it over without yelling? What does your grandma (her mom) think about it?

You should check out self.com that's the magazine selfs website, they have tips on makeup and hair. Also find a girly girl and just ask her flat out "will you help me get girlified?" Sorry about your mom, sounds like she had some issues from her childhood she passed down to you. Anyway, good luck.

You could start with a new hairstyle, like a lose ponytail and a bit of make up. Always accessorise your look. Get some cute earings, bracelets, nice shoes, belts, a cute little purse. This is quick easy solution, especially if you don't have the budget for new clothes.

funny. my mom tells me i look like a sluttttt too. i've learned to ignore it. I don't care what other people think about me, especially not her. However, if you truly do care what your mom thinks about you, maybe you should ease into all the girly stuff. you know a little bit at a time. or if you'd be willing to talk to her. Just stand up to her and tell her that it hurts you when she says that and that you want her to stop. tell her you wanna that you like the idea of makeup even if she doesn't and that ultimately it is your choice what you wanna look like.

hope this helps. and good luck whatever you do

She should of let you be a girly girl in your growing up days. If you don't live with her anymore feel free in a girly girl world now but if you still live with her i feel for you. you are a fem and she is to she should let you dress like 1 in stead of dressing like a boy she is a sorry women i my self would never make my daughter dress like a boy that is just degrading to the femm world i think. We need to feel like a women not a boy.

Go to a salon and pick a look you like from their pictures. Then ask the salon person how to style the look at home.

Just make subtle changes...start out with some lip gloss then maybe some neutral eye shadows and mascara...Just dont do anything to drastic like thick black eyeliner or ruby red lipstick...
