After I downloaded Zone Alarm, I tried shutting down my computer, and it just froze during shut down. I uninstalled Zone Alarm. and now the shut down process works fine. Why did Zone Alarm froze my computer on shut down? I have McAfee for virus scan, and I wanted something else for a firewall like Zone Alarm but tis giving me problems.

I have used zonealarm free for home use for nine plus years an I never known zonealarm to freeze any of Windows platforms. I have used every platform that windows has come out with. Now I have Windows XP Pro.

If Mcafee, has a built in firewall, then that is your problem. You can only use one firewall. Same as you can only use one antvirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. You can use three or four antispyware without any conflict.
