My understanding is that you have to be age 35 (and a natural-born U.S. citizen), in order to TAKE THE OATH OF OFFICE as President of the United States!! But there is no age requirement on how old you have to be in order to RUN for President. These days, most Presidential campaigns are two years or more in the making. The actual language for age requirement to BE PRESIDENT, is in the U.S. Constititution. But to RUN for President, it would probably be a good idea these days, to plan some lead time, like two or more years before Election Day. So conceivably, a viable, legal candidate could start their campaign for the November 2008 election TODAY (the corresponding Inauguration Day, when the oath of office is administered, will be January 20, 2009), even if only 32 years and some-odd months of age. That individual's 35th birthday need only be any date on or before Jan. 20, 2009.
