Well, I also experience that kind of problem. Here's what I did:
I tried to know what the virus was and what exactly the file name was infected with. After which, I restarted the computer and boot it in safe mode, press the F8 key when starting up the PC and choose safe mode. Look for the file name the using search to find the file and when it did, select and press shift+delete. Then restart the PC.
Note: Be sure that the file name you're going to delete is not a system file, otherwise your OS won't start as it was when the PC has not been infected. If so, you have to try a lighter method. Download the Avast Anti-virus, you'll love it.

Try booting in safe mode and the deleting it. To get into safe mode tap the F8 key when ur computer first boots up. Also try another anti-virus program. there are tons of free ones out there that will get the job done

FIREWALL
ZoneAlarm http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
WEB BROWSER - http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox

and if you have a wireless router follow these tips,
1. Use WPA encryption (WPA-PSK) it's less crackable then WEP.
2. Make a passphrase that is upper & lower case and has some numbers thrown in there as well, again harder to crack.
some like mAkE1t5eCurE0rel53 and as long as possible.
3. Use MAC access control so only you or authorized PC's can connect (even if you do have encryption turned on)
4. Turn off DHCP use static addresses.
5. Turn off SSID (and change it) unless your card really needs it (some do)
6. Change username/password of access unit front end
7. Ensure you have the usual firewall enabled on your PC.
8. Paranoia rules, turn WLAN off if your not using it :)

You don't stay what antivirus program that you are using. Your only recourse, is to hit on your keyboard F8 very quick when your pc turn on and start to load. (During the period where you will see a black flash window with # in it).
You want to get yourself into "SAFE MODE", once in safe mode then use your antivirus scan. Reboot and you should be out of the safe mode and the virus will be gone.

If you have a virus scanner with the ability to put the virus in quarantine do that.Otherwise, go to ad-remove programs, close all running programs and click remove the program where the virus is located,
