Political gridlock is on the way - especially if the Republicans ultimately win the Virginia election still 'too close to call'.
Democrats and Republicans, for as much the same as they are, will never agree on anything. They'll squabble like little children, wasting precious time and billions of taxpayers' dollars.
They're already talking about the "issues" they'll address: the Iraqi war, Social Security, tax cuts, etc., etc., etc.
They SHOULD be talking about other "issues" that could be of benefit to the nation - and the world. Issues such as: cleaning up the most incompetent, arrogant, contemptible, cowardly, dastardly, corrupt Congress in U.S. history; fixing America's infrastructure that is quickly collapsing around us; protecting and preserving the delicate ecological balance between plants, man, and animals that will keep our environment healthy and save the planet; feeding the millions of young American children who go to bed hungry every night; providing superior health care to every single American citizen; reducing the TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT that the Bush administration has laid at the feet of generations of new American taxpayers; conserving energy; providing working families a respectable minimum wage while preventing chief executive officers of corporations from raiding their companies' pension plans and gorging themselves on outlandish personal wages and benefits; cutting the pay for members of Congress to 50% of what it is now and eliminating all the lifetime 'perks'; limiting the terms in office of all federal government elected officials; putting the Bush administration and the current U.S. Congress on trial for high crimes against humanity, and - if convicted - making them hang right alongside Saddam Hussein. -RKO-

No, he has no choice but to make statements like this.
The Democrats have taken over every office power except the presidency, Bush doesn't want to work with them, but he HAS to. He doesn't have a choice now.

I found not only his comment interesting, but also the fact that the media made such a big deal about it.

I am not sure why this is such a major revelation. He basically has no choice now but to work with them. Whether he likes it or not, they have to work together in order to get anything done. He makes it sound like he is doing them a favor, when in reality, he is simply playing the cards he has been dealt.

He should stop acting like he doing everyone a favor, and deal with the fact he and his party lost miserably.
