1. Ibuprofen (Advil). It works wonders. I get nasty cramps as well, and so for a week those beauties are my lifeline. And if your back cramps up as well, see if you can get a massage from someone. It feels really good. I've heard a hot water bottle helps, too, but I've never tried it. My Sister's Keeper is about a girl who was born as a bone marrow match for her older sister who has leukemia, and now that she's getting older, she's starting to fight that role in life. It's appropriate for a kid your age. The book is on my summer reading list and I'm 16.
